Menopausal Transition-and Post Menopause: Significant Changes

The menopausal transition is the 10 to 15 year time period leading up to the end of menstruation. After no menstruation for one year, a person is considered to have completed menopause.

Significant physical and emotionalchanges during this time of life are often also accompanied by profound changes in a person’s life situation. To make things even more complicated, our society has some very negative attitudes about aging and menopause.

What is normal? What is abnormal and needs more attention? What can you do about annoying or disabling symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness and painful sex. All these questions can be addressed by comprehensive menopausal care at Ravenna Women’s Health.

You and your health care provider will make a plan that fits your needs. This might include natural remedies, lifestyle changes, non-hormonal treatments as well as menopausal hormone therapy.

Telehealth and in-person visits are available.

The National Women’s Health Network is an excellent source of up-to-date information about treatments for menopause.
